Jaime Carvajal, from CABD and the GEM-DMC2 unit, in collaboration with Jordi Garcia Gonzalez from Universitat de Barcelona led a study that identified Bex3 as relevant for advanced neurological functions, such as autism. Find the full information in the paper.
The group of Manuel Muñoz from CABD started this project 14 years ago. The work recently published in Nature Communications focused on a novel gene that when mutated increases longevity and improves the symptoms of Alzheimer, Parkinson and Huntington in C. elegans. Similar results were observed in mice. The results of this work prompted the launch of a spin-off OlavideNeuSTX.
