The efforts to promote women in science at the CABD, including the groups of the María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence, lead to the creation of an official Gender Equality Commission.
Last February 11th, the International Day of the Women and Girl in Science lead to an informal gathering and started the discussion about strategies to improve the vision of women in science and in particular in this institute. On March 8th, in the International Women’s day, this (still) informal commission organized a breakfast that congregated all institute, for a snack and for the brainstorm of ideas that could improve gender equality. The official nomination of the Gender Equality commission came just after this event.
The creation of a Gender Equality commission shows a commitment of the CABD and the groups that belong to GEM-DMC2 (CABD) María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence to support this cause and to develop activities to raise equality between genders!
