The Spanish Society for Developmental Biology (SEBD) has as a main purpose to promote the scientific activity in the field of Developmental Biology and to promote exchange of knowledge within the community of Spanish Developmental Biologists and internationally. It is included in the International Society for Developmental Biology (ISDB) and collaborates with Portuguese, British, French, Japanese and American developmental biology societies.
Fernando Casares is a CSIC Principal Investigator at CABD. He is also the future Director of Maria de Maeztu Unit GEM-DMC2. Fernando has contributed in various ways to the developmental biology field. Currently he and his team are interested in control of organ growth and identity during development and evolution.
Fernando was elected president of SEBD during the last meeting of the society. He will succeed Miguel Torres in this position! He and the SEBD team will do a great job promoting developmental biology in Spain and abroad!
